Mounjaro / Zepbound Life S47 d2 1 YEAR +2d Mounjaro Tirzepatide Journey Blog
So as I begin Year 2 … I am at a plateau with today’s weight being 238.4 but my outlook for the year is very good. It has brought me great joy sharing this weight loss journey with others and hearing their stories. Ultimately the most important thing in life is connection and sharing these stories has been a great way to feel connection with others and the realization that so many other people totally understand and relate to where I started and how far I have come.
So here are the experiences that so many people on this journey can relate to prior to their successful journey:
- commonly having food at meal times stain your shirt (or dresses or sweaters or jackets etc) because everything falls down onto our stomach area (or breast area for women) and it is harder to bite something over our plates with our stomach area in the way when we bend forward with messy food.
- having been asked to get off a roller coaster before it started or not even allowed to get on board because you were too big to safely ride (in front of friends and/or family especially our kids).
- having to ask for a seat belt extender on an airplane and the anxiety when they say they can’t find one and the potentials for having to get off the flight.
- having people confuse you with someone else who looks nothing like you and the only thing you share with the other person was being of rather large size.
- having to change tables at a restaurant because we did not fit in a booth they tried to sit us at.
- being prescribed antidepressants for our condition / situation instead of actually being helped with the weight loss (the antidepressants actually making the weight problem even worse).
- everytime we had to get on the ground for something we would need to have a plan on how we were going to get back up.
- believing that we did not deserve better in our lives because we were somehow lesser humans based on how we got used to being treated by so many people around us.
- dealing with our obesity despite multiple efforts at weight loss and finally feeling like a failure because all of our attempts at regular means of weight loss did not work successfully with us.
For all the people with “successful” weight loss stories who never experienced any of the things above ….congratulations! but your situations were really different from ours.
We really needed help and these GLP-1s have really helped so many of us.
(Thank you Tammy who chatted with me as we described some of these mutual experiences together recently).
… the photo above makes me think of how under every T. Rex there is a whole different dinosaur more like a Raptor waiting to come out one day given the right situation ….
